Personalized Learning Solutions (PLS) is how Peoria Christian School addresses the needs of every student. Our staff uses data from varying sources to identify academic strengths and weaknesses on a monthly basis. This data along with teacher insight is used to reassess each student’s development each month. We then look at strengths and weaknesses for every student and create a plan of action to address those areas on a Google Doc, which is shared with the parents.
During the week each class has a PLS time where the students have a chance to work on those areas of strengths and weaknesses we have identified. Depending on the student’s need, we will provide services outside of the classroom with a certified Instructional Strategist to help develop academic growth.
We utilize iPads in grades K-2 and purchase apps to address the student’s personalized development. In grades 3-8, we utilize laptops to access academic websites, specialized program software, and for research purposes.
